Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. is currently aware of the introduction and spread of COVID-19 into our service community. In an abundance of caution and a commitment to health and safety, BBBS has suspended all site-based and group match activities throughout the month of March 2020. If any of these events are ultimately rescheduled, matches who had registered for the original dates will be given first choice for the new dates. No changes to calendars for April or beyond are planned at this time, but as conditions and recommendations change, BBBS will proactively communicate our plans.

As a general practice, BBBS recommends all match parties exercise best judgment when considering spending time together. Reach out to your Mentoring Support Specialist if you’d like to discuss your particular situation or to discuss creative ideas for continuing to build your match relationship without seeing each other in-person for a short period. At a minimum, we ask all Bigs, Parents/Caregivers, and Littles to do the following:

  • Review and follow the Center for Disease Control’s recommendations for preventing the spread of illness.
  • Postpone match outings if anyone in your household has been exposed to COVID-19, has a fever, or exhibits any cold/flu symptoms.

Thank you, as always, for being part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and please reach out to our team if you have any particular questions or concerns.
