Position: Special Projects Intern

Do you enjoy planning events, managing projects, and logistics? Then Big Brothers Big Sisters Services is looking for you to be our Special Projects Intern. We are the largest one-to-one mentoring organization in the nation with over 600 local volunteers that are helping to shape the lives of our children for the better, forever.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for someone to help with the logistics and planning for our Bowl For Kids’ Sake, Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, and Glow Crazy 5K. The Special Events Intern must be okay working in a fast-paced environment.

Our ideal intern will:

  • Have great communication skills
  • Be comfortable working with video
  • Have great documentation skills.
  • Be willing to learn and understand the background knowledge of the organization
  • Be comfortable with doing research
  • Be friendly and engaging personality
  • Be very detail oriented
  • Be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suites
  • Have reliable transportation

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen your customer service skills
  • Assist our Development Coordinator on various projects
  • Learn more about community engagement
  • Gain understanding on how the inside of a nonprofit functions
  • Take leadership on a project to add to your resume
  • Sharpen research skills


At the end of the internship the Special Events Intern will have a complete video for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, as well as assist in the logistics planning of two major agency events

The internship is scheduled from January through early May. You will be required to work 10 hours per week. This is an UNPAID position but with a great opportunity to take a leadership role on a major project.
