Our Programs
COMMUNITY-BASED MENTORING
Volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) meet with their mentees (“Littles”) in the community on a weekly basis over the course of approximately 12 months. Littles are enrolled through parent/guardian referral and consent. Each match is thoughtfully and professionally made by BBBS staff, taking into account the preferences and compatibility of the Big, Little, and the Little’s parent or guardian to ensure a strong, lasting connection.
GROUP MENTORING /SITE-BASED FACILITATED
BBBS Services staff engage mentees in weekly, school-based group sessions, supplemented by periodic one-on-one check-ins. Students ("Littles") are referred through school identification and enrolled with parental consent. Each session follows a professionally developed, in-house curriculum focused on social and emotional learning, incorporating experiential activities designed to build confidence, connection, and life skills.
SITE-BASED MENTORING
Volunteer mentors ("Bigs") meet with their mentees ("Littles") once a week at designated schools or after-school sites throughout the school year. Littles are referred through school identification and enrolled with parental consent. Each match is thoughtfully made by BBBS staff, considering the interests and preferences of the Big, Little, and the Little’s parent or guardian to ensure the best possible connection.
LITTLES-IN-WAITING
BBBS Services staff provide ongoing social and emotional learning activities and enrichment events for youth who are waiting to be matched with a Big.
